What's Wrong With Joaquin?

If you missed it, Joaquin Phoenix was a guest on Letterman last night. He came out with a beard and a pair of sunglasses and, to be honest, he looked completely unprofessional. That wasn't the weirdest part, however. The whole interview was uncomfortably awkward. Phoenix responded to Letterman mostly with one word answers like "ya", "no", or "sure". He seemed uninterested in having any sort of conversation, and he even got irked at the audience and Paul Shaffer for laughing at him. You can't blame them though. It really did seem like his whole attitude was an act. Some people are saying that it most likely was an act, and that he did it to promote his retirement from acting and his start in a hip-hop career. As for my opinion, I really can't decide. It did seem like an act for the majority of the interview, but when he got mad at Letterman and everyone else around him, I had to wonder. The whole interview can be viewed above.
