Hello reader's its me Brandon A.k.a. Vintagebro here with another video game review.
I hope you enjoy this review on a great adventure and puzzler.
Story:
All I can say is Grunty's Back and shes got a new body. While this is a follow up its not a follow up. Let me explain in more detail. You carry on years later from Banjo Tooie, your a fat bear sitting playing "xbox360". Grunty has come back from the dead for the third time, and she wants to get her revenge. Tipical right? Wrong, A new character by the name of L.O.G. has appeared and wants you to partisipate in his new gaming world. You would think to get the same old action from Banjo and Kazooie, running around collection "Musical Notes" and "Jiggy's" while you still do this its not a key component to the game. The ideal object is to build and shape vehicels to ride, race, fly and crash. L.O.G. gives Grunty a body, while shes up to nothing she stands around in your town like your her friend. At times you must defeat her in objectives, very rarely but noticeable. The objective is to collect 103 " Musical Notes" to fight Grunty and return to "Spiral Mountain". 103 Musical Notes? What a dumb number to end on. For the story line, I think its not a perfect one, it still has elements to the Banjo we know and love. 8/10
Gameplay:
The gameplay feels a little bit different, what I mean is you dont get your hard hitting Banjo punches or your Kazooie shooting eggs at people. You get a wrench, yes I said it a wrench. Although its a magical one, it seems a little odd. You use it to attack, pick up items, pick up people, and every carry your car. On another not, the build process isnt to bad, but the mechanics at times seem not in place. For example you may think your engines on, but as soon as you use it in a level it falls off because its no attacked correctly although it tells you it is. Or the movement for B&K slow, not a high jump, not flying ability seems strange to me, but thats just my opinion on it. Im going to have to say a 7/10 for the gameplay.
Graphics:
Im not going to lie, the graphic concept resembles "Viva Pinyata" very much so. Dont get me wrong, it may seem odd to a certain extent but the feel and mood to it is perfect. From the hair, to the glass, to metal, tree's gold and the list goes on. No Glitches in the characters, but sometimes the building of the vehicles snag onto objects you may or may not be right beside. For example if a knocked down a tree and drove by it my tier would just snag it and get me stuck, I have to back up and back up till I can move again. A minor problem but at times can get on your nerves. This gets a 9/10.
Controls:
I feel like im constantly hitting the Y button. Its used to jump, grab, and get into your vehicle. Holding it to keep an object in the air or to turn a knob. They could have used a different button system because if I recall the A button wasent used very offten, only to skip threw talking. Im going to have to say a 7/10.
Value:
If your looking for a guy where you build and have a huge imagination this game is for you. If you have a short time span and dont like to complete racing around challenges dont buy this game. Im going to say its a good investment either way. Not all of the game is constant driving, its a key factor in the game to getting around but you can also explore the works, throw things into lava, fly around and crash. With the edition of mini games I think this game is great to buy for any age. 8/10
Overall:
Overall this game is pretty fun, from exploring to racing to flying around to battling and meeting fimillar faces this game is great. A few glitches here and there, a little off story but a great thing for anyone. 8/10.
( Stay tuned for my next review, hopefully befor Christmas, where we may have a holiday speical.)
