Need For Speed No More?

The Electric Playground reported yesterday that EA Games may be cancelling the Need For Speed franchise, therefore meaning there will be no more NFS games ever made. Not only does this mean no games though, it also means the possibility of a large amount of layoffs at EA. This cancellation is surprising and not surprising all at the same time. It's surprising because Need For Speed seemed like one of those franchises that would simply never die, popular or not. It's not surprising because most Need For Speed games lately haven't been rising on the charts like expected. I suppose people just aren't as in to these types of games as they were no more than 4 years ago. It's sad, and hopefully this news is simply some uncredited information.
