Merry Christmas At The Movies

With Christmas right around the corner, let's take a look at a couple movies that will be hitting theatres on Christmas Day.

First, The Spirit. This movie was written and directed by Frank Miller, the man behind 300 and Sin City. And like those movies, this one was filmed entirely with green screen. The movie is based on the comic book of the same name created by Will Eisner. It's about a rookie cop rising from the dead to fight crime in Central City. Sounds like another cheesy comic-to-movie adaptation, but it looks great. Check out the trailer below.

Next is Valkyrie. This film, set in WWII Germany, depicts the accounts of German army officers on July 20, 1944 who attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler. The movie seems interesting enough, but the one thing turning me off of seeing it is the fact that Tom Cruise has the starring role. I just don't see him doing a good job of playing a German officer, and I believe it's going to kill the feel of the movie. I mean, honestly, the guy doesn't even attempt to have the faintest German accent. How pathetic. Check out the trailer below.

So, this will be our last post until after Boxing Day. Have a safe and merry Christmas everyone, and don't forget, only 2 shopping days left!
