1.Watchmen (March 6th)
Starring: Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode

This comic-to-movie adaptation has gained a lot of hype, and for good reason. So far it looks fantastic, and better yet, it's not a Batman or Spiderman movie! It makes me want to shout for joy. Finally, something fresh and exciting for the Comic Book movie genre. I have very little knowledge of some of the actors in this film, but that's no reason to worry. It means some fresh faces in a time when all other actors seem to be type casted. Check out the trailer here. It's worth the 2 minutes.
2.G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra (August 7th)
Starring: Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Dennis Quaid

Every G.I. Joe fanboy out there is squirming with angst at the release of this movie. It will be set 10 years in the future, and other than it starring Channing Tatum, this film looks like it could be good. There's really no more to it. Just imagine the G.I. Joe name we all know and love. Except Channing Tatum. I hate him.
Oh, and I almost forgot. Joseph Gordon Levitt is playing Cobra Commander. Yep. Google him and you'll see what I'm talking about.
3.Sherlock Holmes (November 20th)
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams

I'm actually quite curious about how this film will turn out. I'm sure it was no easy task to properly portray the Holmes characters on film, but it must have been even harder when Robert Downey Jr. was accidentally punched and knocked unconscious by one of the actors during filming. Yikes. Anyways, it's still a while away and no trailer has been released as of yet. We'll just have to keep waiting.
4.2012 (July 10th)
Starring: John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover

Another disaster film that is sure to be a flop, yet it seems to keep getting publicity. John Cusack is a great actor, but I just don't see this film fitting his style. Check out the teaser trailer here, as long as you're not tired of these movies by now.
5.Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen (June 26th)
Starring: Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel

Michael Bay did something right with his first Transformers movie in 2007, so expect greatness with this one. Mr. LaBeouf (however you say it) will return as Sam Witwicky to cause all sorts of shenanigans with his Bot Buddies. Sure to be a thrill.
6.Terminator Salvation (May 22nd)
Starring: Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin

So, what's the first thing that stands out about the information just given. NO ARNIE! Finally, we can all offically say he's no longer in the movie industry. So, ya, that's all I gotta say. Looks good, and is probably only being released because of the success of the TV series. Check the trailer here.
7.Dragonball: Evolution (April 8th)
Starring: Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Chow Yun-Fat

Well, it was going to be done eventually. A live-action Dragonball movie is coming this April. All the anime nerds are excited, and everyone else is confused. It's like Christmas with a bunch of drunks. It sure does...look...compelling and...cool...NO, I must not give in to the Japanese forces at work. It will not happen. Or maybe it will. We'll see. The trailer is here.
8.Saw VI (October 23rd)
Starring: Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor

Not much is known about the next Saw sequel, but at least it's gonna be gory. Watch for this one in October.
9.Astro Boy (October 23rd)
Starring: Freddie Highmore, Nicolas Cage, Nathan Lane

Ok, so here it is. The first 3D animation on the list. It sounds okay, but I'm not sure if this anime inspired film will hit as big as Dragonball. It will probably only do as good as Speed Racer. Good luck to it anyway. Here's the teaser.
10.The Wolfman (November 6th)
Starring: Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt

This movie looks awesome. The promotional image of Del Toro alone is enough to garner some attention. Look for more info in the coming months.
11.The Pink Panther 2 (February 6th)
Starring: Steve Martin, John Cleese, Jean Reno

I loved the first Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin, but it seemed lots of other didn't. Well, it did something right because here comes the sequel. I'm not sure if it will be as funny (the formula seems a little tired now), but who knows, it could be huge. Check out the trailer here.
12.Star Trek (May 8th)
Starring: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg

Again, the nerds are having sci-fi orgasms over this film. I'm not a fan of Star Trek myself, but I'm confused about how Simon Pegg will take on his role as Scotty. I just can't take him seriously after all his comedy films (which were all good by the way). Check the trailer here.
So, there you have it. The 12 films I feel will become the talk of the town. There's lots of other films though, so get ready for a Hollywood 2009!
