StarWars Force Unleashed Xbox360: Review

Hey everyone, its Brandon a.k.a. Vintagebro here giving you the SW:FU review for the xbox360. Im going to fill you in on why or why not you might like this game.

Story - The basic of the story is your in-between episodes 3-4. Darth Vader has got a new apprentice and is setting out to destory the rest of the Jedi. In my opinion this is so star wars, I love the series but it seems recycled just to produce new star wars stuff because they have no new idea's. The apprentice or "Starkiller" is out going from planet to planet to destory the rest of the Jedi. Starkiller is doing this to prove he is ready to take on the Emperor with Darth Vader. There are two different endings to the game. I dont want to tell anyone anything because someone might want to do it for themselfs. All in all Im giving storyline a 7/10.

Gameplay - The gameplay to the game is great. Lucas Arts really focuses on detail to there surroundings, although some of the enemies and bosses arnt that detailed they seem to well done no matter what. They could have focused on making it alittle more even, but it still looks good. Some of the bosses are really simple, and what I mean is, is that there pretty easy to beat, a force more hear a force more there and bam your done. Although having said this some of the puzzels require some thought and skill, some dont make sence or dont work right away. For example I had to lighting shock a generator, it didnt work i tryed every possible thing, ran everywhere finally died and did it again and then it worked. Even when I say this I still think its pretty rewarding to run around on any level and destory the crap out of everything. I even enjoy going to the first level and dropping wookies off the bridge. The force powers are awesome, although can be slightly overused you have a veriety of cloths, light saber colors , force attacks and combo's to use. Solid 8/10 for gameplay.

Graphics - Like I said befor about detail, Lucas Arts really focused on detail on backdrops, props and others, but as for enemies, the main characters and robots have a little less nice clean feel to them.
The cool lightsaber effects really stand out, including the force attacks. Not much to say about the graphics that hasent already been said. I say a good old 7/10 for it.

Controls - Again not much needed to say about it. Its an easy pick up and learn to attack right off the bat. In the first few seconds of the game I already got 2 achivements for the game. The game can be a bit repeatative, but also can be losts of fun doing it. Also saying that brings me to its a button masher at times. Doing the same combos over and over. Easy to pick up, and it gets a 8/10.

Sound - Im going to make this short and simple. I know it may be scary, but for sound Im giving it a perfect 10. The star wars music, the theme's and everything flow so well. The music goes perfect with each stage. The sound effects for each person, enemies bosses everything is right on. It sounds like your watching one of the movies for yourself, just awesome. 10/10

Value - What can I say about this game, if you like to run around and beat people up this game is for you. A Great addition to the star wars set of games. I wouldent say this is the best of them, but it ranks up in the awesome area. A great game for people who like star wars, even if your not fimillar with the star wars world I think you would like it. Not for the story but the kicking but and satisfying throwing people around. If you dont like button mashing, and doing a little bit of logic thinking dont get this game. Although its great, you may not like the repeat on certain things. I say this game is pretty good, value gets a 8/10

Overall - Overall this game is pretty awesome. Weather its throwing stuff around, tossing people across the map or just slicing people with my light sabre this game is great. Some rocky edges, but nothing to bad. Im going to give this game a solid 8/10. Hope you pick this game up, or even rent it. Im out for now, Peace!

Ya, I have to agree with this review. I played this game myself and, while I didn't get what I expected from it, it was still pretty fun overall. I wonder how the PS3 version is?
